Friday Mar 26, 2021
This week's guest is Anthony Frijia. He is a folk/americana/blues artist from here in Maryland but now located in San Diego. He his known as "Vanthonyfrijia" on instagram. I first met him at Hopkins Farm Brewery up 95 near Bmore. But anyway, Anthony has shared the stage with notable local acts around here such as Ballyhoo!, Pasadena, Skribe, and Pressing Strings. He also has a popular blog, The American Roadtripper, that documents his travels. He’s typically traveling the country and living the vagabond life in his van. His new song “Shook” is featured on this episode and is now available wherever you listen to music. So if you dig it, feel free like, subscribe, or follow. All that stuff. It’s is always helpful and appreciated. You can also drop a rating or like on the podcast if you want. But yeah, we got to talking all things music and what got Anthony into pursing an occupation in music and living life out on the road. As well as his creative inspirations. We also talked about a few books that we’ve read, which are listed as amazon affiliate links in the show notes.

Friday Mar 12, 2021
Episode 55 features a friend mine by the name of Mike Jones. He was formerly and currently in a blues rock band called The Jones in the Washington D.C. area for the last 15 years. He’s also doing some solo stuff now as well. His new song is called Snake Oil. It is featured on this episode. It’s more or less folk rock. If you like it, you can definitely find it on Spotify and all the usual places. I will link in the episode notes. As always feel free to drop a subscription or follow on either Mike's music or the podcast wherever you may be listening. It always helps broaden the reach of this thing. But anyway, we had a fun overall chat about what we’ve seen during the pandemic while working in healthcare, and what we’ve been working on musically. Mike also opened for Yngwie Malmsteen once at the Fillmore here in DC. So that was cool to hear about. Anyway, thanks for listening and supporting local music.

Episode 53: One In The Chamber (Gerrod Harris)
Friday Feb 26, 2021
Friday Feb 26, 2021
Gerrod Harris from One In The Chamber came on the show this week for an interview. Today also happens to be the podcast’s one year Birthday. So thanks for listening and supporting.
One In The Chamber is a modern metal/rock band from Toronto. Gerrod came on to talk about their new song, “To The Gallows”, which is featured on this episode. Recorded at Phase One Studios and produced by Murray Daigle, "To The Gallows" is driven by haunting melodies, shifting dynamics, and a heavy foundation. The track has already drawn comparisons to the likes of Led Zeppelin, Alice In Chains, and Metallica. Having released "Blow" earlier in 2020, the single has since surpassed 50k Spotify streams and both "Blow" and "To The Gallows" were featured on Loudwire's Weekly Wire Spotify playlist while the band was titled as Blue Rhymez Entertainment's Rock Band Of The Year and finished in the semi-finals (top 8) of 97.7 HTZ FM's annual Rocksearch. Furthermore, "To The Gallows" was recently featured on Rock 94.7 in Wisconsin and is set to be featured on 94.9 The Rock's Generation Next at the end of January.

Episode 50: Adam Crouse of Pillbox
Friday Feb 12, 2021
Friday Feb 12, 2021
Welcome to the part time rockstar podcast episode 50. Today with Adam Crouse from the Baltimore area rock band Pillbox. He came on a little while back to talk about his bands new album that just came out which is self titled as Pillbox. The song that’s featured on this episode is called Carry On. Adam said that song was one his better vocal performances. And I defilingly dig it. It’s pretty solid old school rock n’ roll. You can find it on Spotify or wherever you listen to music.
But in any case this podcast made it to 50 episodes. Which is kind of crazy. I wasn’t sure I was gonna take it this far, but the feedback from listeners and bands has been good. And there still seems to be an increasing amount of interest. So thanks for that and thanks for listening. Hopefully together we can help out our favorite local bands in whatever ways we can. Feel free to subscribe, like, or follow Pillbox or the podcast. So whether your friends of Adams or friends of mine, thanks for tuning in, and hopefully you yourself are doing alright out there. But without further ado, episode 50 with Adam Crouse from Pillbox.

Episode 49: Skribe (Aaron Yealdhall)
Monday Feb 08, 2021
Monday Feb 08, 2021
Episode 49 features Aaron Yealdhall otherwise known as Skribe. He’s a local Annapolis area musician who just released two new songs over the weekend. One original song called “Big Ole Buzz” as well as a John Prine cover called “Spanish Pipe Dream”. Both of which you can find at the band camp link below. Generally Skribe’s music is described as garage folk and I’d probably add that he has a touch of country influence as well. Aaron and I talked about all things music and what he’s been up to. We talked a lot about marketing music on FB, recording at Sweetfoot Studios, and live streams. Thanks for listening and supporting local music.
