Monday Dec 28, 2020
Monday Dec 28, 2020
Today's episode is an in person/in studio episode with Ben Dehan. As well as his gf Lauren White and my fiancé Andrea. We had a fun chat the other night about all the things Ben has been up to of late. As well as his background in music and playing with his initial band American Diary. We talked about cat stories, bands, books, chemicals, and the like. Ben's song Days Go By is featured on the episode. You can find it wherever you listen to music if you like it. Also I should mention this episode is mixed better for headphones than stereo. But hopefully it sounds good either way. Other than that the book recommendations that we mentioned are listed below. As well as Ben's music. Have a happy new year.

Episode 40: Pablo from Fellowcraft
Monday Dec 21, 2020
Monday Dec 21, 2020
Welcome to episode 40 today with Pablo Anton-Diaz from the band Fellowcraft based in Washington D.C. They are an indie/prog/metal/hard rock band.
Pablo is the guitar player. So we got along real well on that front talking about our guitar heroes and influences. But from the sound of it Fellowcraft has been out there kicking ass for a little while now. Their last show before the shutdown was in Mexico City with Phil Anselmo, Deep Purple, and the Cavelara brothers. They have a couple albums out now and are releasing their new one. So we talked about the new material. Specifically the song Coyote and the Desert Rose which is related to crossing the US border and the extreme hardships and tragedies that have happened. I featured that song on this episode. You can find it on iTunes, amazon, or spotify or wherever you listen to music.

Anyway, we got to talking about their upcoming new album which should be out in the new year. I’ve heard a few snippets behind the scenes so far and it definitely kicks ass. If you’re a fan of their previous work you will not be disappointed. You can follow Crashing Atlas online to get updates. They also just released a new music video cover of more than a feeling by Boston. Other than that, thanks for listening whether you’re friends or fans of the band. Episode 37: Teen Mortgage
Monday Nov 30, 2020
Monday Nov 30, 2020
Episode 37 features James and Ed from Teen Mortgage. They are a local band from Baltimore. They have a skate punk/stoner rock sound. They remind me a lot of my favorite Californian punk band Fidlar. They will be featured on the soundtrack of the new season of Shameless when that comes out. Their song Falling Down is featured at the end of this episode and you can find it wherever you listen to music. This interview went a little longer than normal since Ed and James were gracious enough to come over and chat in person. I did my best to smooth it out editing wise. James and Ed and I got to talking about all things music and how they met. We learned some english slang, talked about skateboarding, and even got into their dubious and brief connection with the pizza gate conspiracy on reddit. They are in fact on king pizza records incidentally. I should say there is spoiler alert when I mentioned the movie midsummer. Thanks for listening and thanks for supporting local music. Below are some of the links to the band. And movie/book links that we mentioned.

Episode 35: Babe Club (Jenna & Corey)
Thursday Nov 19, 2020
Thursday Nov 19, 2020
My guests today are Jenna and Corey from Babe Club from South Carolina. They were formally members in one of my favorite bands ever called Susto. Babe Club is their new project and they just released a new EP called Remember this Feeling. I really dig it. It's extremely polished, which we talk about in the episode. But these guys have been touring and making a music for a while now. The music itself sounds kinda 90s-meets modern in the best ways. It's kinda ambient and chill at times but never lacks direction. And Jenna has a great voice to tie it all together. Coreys guitar isn’t overpowering but his slightly western bluesy touch compliments the sound of the songs tremendously well. They also recently released a video for "Automatic Love." Their song "Need a girl" is feature on the episode. Find them on Spotify or wherever you listen to music. Link below.

Episode 31 features Georgio from Pregame Rituals. They are an alternative, kinda post hardcore, indie rock band from Massachusetts. Georgio is all around musician teacher, song writer, and performer. We had a fun chat about all things music and life in general. I added his song Two Homes to end of the episode. I picked it up off iTunes but you can find it wherever you listen to music.
That being said if you go to bandcamp, Georgio says all proceeds toward the new EP are donated to The Haven Project in Lynn, MA which helps young adults that are in need of housing and resources.
