Episode 53: One In The Chamber (Gerrod Harris)

Gerrod Harris from One In The Chamber came on the show this week for an interview. Today also happens to be the podcast’s one year Birthday. So thanks for listening and supporting. 
One In The Chamber is a modern metal/rock band from Toronto. Gerrod came on to talk about their new song, “To The Gallows”, which is featured on this episode. Recorded at Phase One Studios and produced by Murray Daigle, "To The Gallows" is driven by haunting melodies, shifting dynamics, and a heavy foundation. The track has already drawn comparisons to the likes of Led Zeppelin, Alice In Chains, and Metallica. Having released "Blow" earlier in 2020, the single has since surpassed 50k Spotify streams and both "Blow" and "To The Gallows" were featured on Loudwire's Weekly Wire Spotify playlist while the band was titled as Blue Rhymez Entertainment's Rock Band Of The Year and finished in the semi-finals (top 8) of 97.7 HTZ FM's annual Rocksearch. Furthermore, "To The Gallows" was recently featured on Rock 94.7 in Wisconsin and is set to be featured on 94.9 The Rock's Generation Next at the end of January.

Episode 52: Twin Pixie

Twin Pixie are an electronic pop duo featuring members Aiv and TJ. Who say they met in college in Montreal. They describe their music as "a supernatural connection between pop and queer cultures. Notable influences include the witchy-ness of early Grimes and Purity Ring, as well as the infectious dance bops of Carly Rae Jepsen and Chvrches." The duo is from Philidelphia and have a new song out called "Astronomy" which is featured on the episode. Thanks for listening and supporting local bands.

Episode 50: Adam Crouse of Pillbox

Welcome to the part time rockstar podcast episode 50. Today with Adam Crouse from the Baltimore area rock band Pillbox. He came on a little while back to talk about his bands new album that just came out which is self titled as Pillbox. The song that’s featured on this episode is called Carry On. Adam said that song was one his better vocal performances. And I defilingly dig it. It’s pretty solid old school rock n’ roll. You can find it on Spotify or wherever you listen to music. 
But in any case this podcast made it to 50 episodes. Which is kind of crazy. I wasn’t sure I was gonna take it this far, but the feedback from listeners and bands has been good. Episode 49: Skribe (Aaron Yealdhall)

Episode 49 features Aaron Yealdhall otherwise known as Skribe. He’s a local Annapolis area musician who just released two new songs over the weekend. One original song called “Big Ole Buzz” as well as a John Prine cover called “Spanish Pipe Dream”. Both of which you can find at the band camp link below. Generally Skribe’s music is described as garage folk and I’d probably add that he has a touch of country influence as well. Aaron and I talked about all things music and what he’s been up to. Episode 47: Audic Empire

Episode 47 features Audic Empire. They are a reggae rock band from Austin, Texas. Ronnie and the guys came on the other day before band practice to talk about their new song Johhny Rotten which dropped Saturday at 420pm Central. And it’s featured on this episode. Theres also a pretty rad music video for it as well. We ended up going live on facebook during the interview so we were able to answer some fan questions. Episode 46: Soltribe Part II --- New EP Release Episode

Episode 46 is a new music release episode with Anthony from Soltribe who came back on the podcast for his second time now. He called in to talk the band’s new EP “More Than A Lifetime” which is releasing today (Jan 29, 2021). It features different remixes of the song “More Than A Lifetime.” As well as a new music video. So we talked about how that came together. As well as just how he and band have been doing down in Houston during the Quarantine. It sounds like he’s been doing well and hopefully you are too. Episode 45: "A Chat With Matt"

Today’s guest is Matt Layne from Toronto. He’s been hosting a podcast called “A Chat With Matt.” Which he started at the beginning of the global shutdown. His podcast focuses on the industry side of music as well as musicians and bands. He’s been hosting Instagram live interviews too. So definitely check out his podcast if you’re a musician looking to promote your stuff or just interested in the Toronto scene. Matt also mentioned that he will be releasing music soon too. So if you’re friends of his I’m sure you’ll be hearing more about that down the road. Other than that we kinda just talked about how things have been in Canada compared to the US. Episode 44: David Zaidain of The Suspension

This week's episode features David Zaidain of the Washington DC band The Suspension. They're a local rock band with some new music out. Their song "The Fearless" is featured on this episode. It come's off their most recent album by the same title. It reminds me a lot of Against Me with maybe a bit of a 90s punk sound. I think I compared them to NOFX and possibly Goo Goo Dolls. However, I draw that comparison from listening to Davids Solo stuff as well. "A Stranger Turn of Events" which also came out recently, has a very nostalgic pop rock sound which I enjoyed.
