Today’s guest is Matt Layne from Toronto. He’s been hosting a podcast called “A Chat With Matt.” Which he started at the beginning of the global shutdown. His podcast focuses on the industry side of music as well as musicians and bands. He’s been hosting Instagram live interviews too. So definitely check out his podcast if you’re a musician looking to promote your stuff or just interested in the Toronto scene. Matt also mentioned that he will be releasing music soon too. So if you’re friends of his I’m sure you’ll be hearing more about that down the road. Other than that we kinda just talked about how things have been in Canada compared to the US. And some of my experiences in health care as of late. But anyway, as always thanks for listening and supporting local music.

Episode 44: David Zaidain of The Suspension
Monday Jan 18, 2021
Monday Jan 18, 2021
This week's episode features David Zaidain of the Washington DC band The Suspension. They're a local rock band with some new music out. Their song "The Fearless" is featured on this episode. It come's off their most recent album by the same title. It reminds me a lot of Against Me with maybe a bit of a 90s punk sound. I think I compared them to NOFX and possibly Goo Goo Dolls. However, I draw that comparison from listening to Davids Solo stuff as well. "A Stranger Turn of Events" which also came out recently, has a very nostalgic pop rock sound which I enjoyed. I will link his stuff at the bottom. As always, thanks for listening and supporting local music.

Episode 43: Nick Thompson "Surfin' On The Lake"
Monday Jan 11, 2021
Monday Jan 11, 2021
This week’s episode is with my friend and former guest on the podcast Nick Thompson also known as “Surfin’ On The Lake.” He’s got a new song out called “Come With Me” which is featured on the episode. You can find it wherever you listen to music. His music has a real chill acoustic rock and slightly R&B vibe. For the this episode I was over at his place recording a guest guitar solo for another track he’s been working on collaboratively with Hazel Dow. So we talked about that and music stuff in general. Personally I just released a new song and music video called “Algorithm” via my band The Hollow Truths. Which we also talked about. But in any case, we both appreciate you/everyone who supports local music and local bands. Hopefully everyone is doing well out there. I will link the book that my new song was inspired by. Have a good week. Jah bless.

Episode 40: Pablo from Fellowcraft
Monday Dec 21, 2020
Monday Dec 21, 2020
Welcome to episode 40 today with Pablo Anton-Diaz from the band Fellowcraft based in Washington D.C. They are an indie/prog/metal/hard rock band.
Pablo is the guitar player. So we got along real well on that front talking about our guitar heroes and influences. But from the sound of it Fellowcraft has been out there kicking ass for a little while now. Their last show before the shutdown was in Mexico City with Phil Anselmo, Deep Purple, and the Cavelara brothers. They have a couple albums out now and are releasing their new one. So we talked about the new material. Specifically the song Coyote and the Desert Rose which is related to crossing the US border and the extreme hardships and tragedies that have happened. I featured that song on this episode. You can find it on iTunes, amazon, or spotify or wherever you listen to music.
