Saturday May 08, 2021
Saturday May 08, 2021
My guest today is Charles Kavoossi. He is local musician, singer, songwriter in the Annapolis area. He’s got a new song out called “Hatteras.” Which is featured on this episode. In any case, I’ve been looking forward talking to Kavoossi for a while now because he’s a fairly prominent piece of the local scene here in Maryland. And I think for anyone out there listening who’s trying to support your scene as well, he’s a great of example of how to do it. He also does video work for bands and plays guitar for a local legend around here by the name of Joey Harkum. His new song is listed below.

Friday Apr 30, 2021
Today my guest is Luke Justin Roberts, otherwise known as LJR. He’s one of my longtime friends, bandmates, and former guest on the show. He’s been working on a solo album for a while now and is finally releasing some a new song called "I Cant Say". Which is featured on this episode. Luke’s album has been in the works now for a couple years. I’ve been razzing him about taking his time on it but I know a lot of people are looking forward to his new songs. So hopefully you dig it. I know Luke is excited to finally get em out there. I figured I’d get him back on the show. We are also playing a show together soon may 8th at fish head cantina here in Baltimore (as The Hollow Truths). So we talked a little about that. Luke will be on the drum kit for my band that night. Tickets for the show can be found in the episode notes. As well as a link to Luke’s new song. You can find Lukes music on iTunes and Spotify and all those places. Tuesday Apr 27, 2021
Episode 64 features my guests Matt, Nick, and Tom from Top Dead Center. They are a local maryland rock cover band. They were gracious enough to invite my band The Hollow Truths to join forces with them May 8th, 2021 for a show at Fish head Cantina. So well got together the other night to talk about the show and what all they’ve been up to as a band. After meeting up with them I can safely say they are tight knit group. In the best way. I think in a lot of ways good bands are as much like gangs as they are musicians.
So yeah hopefully you yourself are doing alright out there. Staying safe and sand and all that stuff. As always thanks for listening and supporting local music. We all appreciate it. Feel free to subscribe or follow the podcast wherever you may be streaming. It always helps broaden the reach a little. Episode 60: Souls Extolled
Thursday Apr 08, 2021
Thursday Apr 08, 2021
Episode 60 features Zack from Souls Extolled. They are a proto-metal ska punk band from Austin, Texas. They definitely got their own sound going on. Zach is also originally from Hawaii, which is where he was calling in from for this interview. So we talked about that, Zach’s ethos for the band, and some of his spiritual ideas. Let’s just say Zach is a big fan of human free will, but more on that in the interview.
The band songs “Allegiant Swine” and “Seraphic War” are featured on this episode. If you’re into it and you wanna find the Souls Extolled on Spotify or anywhere else, the links are attached in the episode description.

Episode 59: Sidney Abernathy
Friday Apr 02, 2021
Friday Apr 02, 2021
Sidney Abernathy is a folk/alternative country signer originally from Colorado. Now residing in Mexico. I first got acquainted with her music after seeing former guest and friend of the show Matt Pless do a write up of her new album. And was pretty much hooked after that. I’ve featured two of her songs on this episode. One is called "Medicine" and the one at the end of the show is called "Miss You." They are my favorite tracks off of album No Return Address.
As a lyricist Sidney has everything I admire in a song writer. I hate using the word haunting but if there was ever a time to use it, her album would probably be it. There’s depth and sadness juxtaposed with humor and tongue in cheek sarcasm. Intermingled with the classic elements of old american outlaw country. But most importantly her songs are genuine and real. So if you’re into maybe the “off the beaten path side of country,” you’ll probably dig it. Thanks for listening. Links below.

Episode 58: Andrew Toy --- @atoydrummer
Tuesday Mar 30, 2021
Tuesday Mar 30, 2021
My guest today is Andrew Toy. Also known as @AToyDrummer online on twitter, youtube, and instagram. He’s got a new album out called Guardrails which is featured at the link in the notes. The song “Sneaking Suspicions" is featured on the episode. I just met Andrew a couple weeks ago when he came in to the studio where I was recording to do some drum tracks. I’ve been fortunate to play with a lot of good drummers but Andrew’s really on another level. By the sound of it he’s playing around the world for many years now. And is currently promoting his new percussion based album. He says he uses percussion as a starting point for composition and sonic exploration. In the studio and on stage, Andrew twists, distorts, and re-arranges the sound of the drums beyond recognition to create soundscapes that are both intense and atmospheric. I sort of described it as what you might hear the Matrix was based in the jungle. But anyway when had a fun chat so hopefully you enjoy it whether you are friends or fans of his.
