Friday Dec 17, 2021
Friday Dec 17, 2021
This week’s episode features Howi Spangler of the Baltimore area band Ballyhoo! They are local legends around here and have been toruing/releasing music for over 25 years now. I wanted to talk to Howi in particular for the 100th episode because his podcast “Tales From the Green Room” inspired me to start this show. He’s also got a new solo album out called “Aberrations” which is a lo-fi instrumental reggae type thing that was just released. You can dowload it for free and/or use it license free for any of your projects. I featured a track called “Ghost Tour” on this episode, as well as Ballyhoo’s song Mixtape at the end. Both of which you can find wherever you listen to music. Ballyhoo’s next show is February 10th at the 930 club in DC with The Movement and Little Stranger. Anyway, big gratitude & thanks to Howi and everyone who’s listened and supported the show so far. Links below.

Today’s guest is Georgio Broufas of the Massachusetts band Pregame Rituals. I’ve become a fan of their stuff since Georgio’s first time on the show. They have a new song out now called “Persian Nights” which is featured on this episode. I should mention that if you buy their music on Bandcamp the proceeds for most of the songs go to a couple different charities. Their first album “Honest Eyes” goes to the Haven project which supports finding shelter for young adults and the song “Faded Gold” also supports a homeless charity in Massachusetts. Thanks for listening and supporting local music.

So whether you are friends or fans of his hopefully you enjoy the interview. Andrew has some shows coming up where you can see him play (listed below). I also featured a live recording of Rock Creek Revival on this episode. As always thanks for listening and thanks for supporting local music.

Tuesday Nov 02, 2021
This week’s guest is Brendan Clarke from the Baltimore area band Old Eastern. They have a new album out called “On The Rocks” and their song “Anna Lee” is featured on this episode. The band self-describes their sound as “Whiskey Rock.” If you like their music you can find them wherever you stream music. Brendan and I had a fun conversation about what the band has been up to over the years and the recording process for the latest album. It also turns out that Old Eastern has their very own signature beer brewed by Mobtown Brewing here in Baltimore City. You can follow Old Eastern on any of the socials to keep tabs on their upcoming dates. Their next show in the city is at Full Tilt Brewing on November 13th. And they also have a big show in December at The Recher with former guest of the show Wills Sims.
