Episode 353 features Ron Barrett, a country artist from Houston, TX. He is currently working with Heart Song Records and recently released his 14-track album "Whiskey Memories" in Nashville, TN. I featured his song "What I'm Missing" on the episode. If you like it, you can stream it wherever you listen to music. In the conversation, we talked about songwriting, bad management, mental health, promoting music, and playing shows. Besides owning a business, Ron also has a family, and he balances his music with both. Thanks for listening and supporting local music!

Tuesday Dec 23, 2025
Episode 352 features the New Jersey pop-punk/emo quartet Northvale. In the episode, I spoke with vocalist Keith Carroll. The guys are veterans of the scene, and this current project has been their biggest success so far. I featured their songs "Runaway" and "Better When I Can," which you can stream wherever you listen to music. I sat down with Keith to talk about what it's like promoting music in 2025, the pros and cons of using tracks instead of a live bassist, and a bunch of other fun behind-the-scenes stuff. Huge thanks to Keith and Northvale for coming on, and huge thanks to all of you for listening and supporting independent artists! Also, Merry Christmas and shit!

Episode 351: DelCobras (Philly) [Pop Alt Rock]
Wednesday Dec 17, 2025
Wednesday Dec 17, 2025
On episode 351 we’re joined by my friend Jim Lorino, the artist formerly known as Scoopski, from Philadelphia. I’ve known Jim since the early days of the podcast, and it’s great to have him back. This time, he’s here with his new band, DelCobras, a three-headed Power Pop monster that’s slithering onto the Philly rock scene in 2025, the Year of the Snake apparently. DelCobras features Jim “Scoops” Lorino, Marc Schuster, and Nick Cervini — all three of whom sat down for this conversation. The band grew out of the live lineup of Scoops, and after an incredible year of shows, the trio decided to shed their old skin, and strike with a tighter, more aggressive sound. On the episode I featured their fresh take on the holiday classic “Last Christmas,” plus the non-seasonal rocker “Someday Soon” — both available wherever you stream music. In the episode, we dive into how DelCobras came together, talk all things Philly, and hear about their recent gig at a Christmas parade. It was a fun chat with plenty of local music philly brotherly love.
Big thanks to Jim, Marc, and Nick for coming on, and huge thanks to all of you for listening and supporting independent artists. Change can be scary… but don’t fear the cobra. Enjoy the episode!

EPISODE 350! feat. RAY WROTEN (Bond & Bently) [Baltimore, MD]
Tuesday Dec 09, 2025
Tuesday Dec 09, 2025
Episode 350 features Ray Wroten of the Baltimore-area band Bond & Bentley. Ray is an OG of the show, and it’s always fun to have him back on. He is always funny, loves to talk shit, and is just a good, genuine dude in the scene. Bond & Bentley have a show coming up with Old Eastern at the Ottobar on 12/27. The band also re-released some of their back catalog to better represent the songs and how they sound in their current form. The release is called Remnants, and I featured the track “Smokin’ Fatteez.” If you like it, you can stream it or buy the vinyl. I should note you can also find Ray hosting trivia on certain nights, such as at this podcast's favorite haunt, Fish Head Cantina. Check out Ray's socials or the band's socials for all updates and info. Also, big gratitude and thanks to everyone for supporting this podcast as it’s grown and all the loyal listeners for checking in every week. We will always continue to try to support local artists wherever they may be.

Episode 349: Love Nut (90s rock) [Baltimore, MD]
Tuesday Dec 02, 2025
Tuesday Dec 02, 2025
Episode 349 features Love Nut, the mid-90s Baltimore indie pop band that almost broke big but got lost in the major-label shuffle. Formed in the gritty heart of Charm City by dual-threat axe-man/vocalist Andy Bopp, guitarist/vocalist Max Mueller, bassist Dave Vespoint, and drummer Tom Sabia, Love Nut blended raw emotion with razor-sharp melodies on their 1996 debut Bastards of Melancholy. Snapped up by Interscope Records after a local indie release, the album earned rave reviews for its melancholic bite but sadly fizzled commercially. Fast-forward to now: After nearly three decades, Love Nut is coming back for a triumphant 30th anniversary reunion show this Friday, December 5th, at The Recher Theater in Towson, MD, just a stone's throw from downtown Baltimore. Special guests Splitsville join the fray for what promises to be a nostalgia-soaked explosion of guitars, harmonies, and that unmistakable Charm City swagger. In the episode I spoke with Dave and we talked about the band’s origin story, the record industry then vs now, and the big show this weekend! Check out the Recher Theater website for tickets. Thanks for listening and supporting local artists.

Episode 348 features Michael Torres of the Beers With Bands Podcast. This is technically part 2 of a collaborative episode I did on his show as well. Feel free to check out part 1 if you’d like to hear the entirety of the conversation.
The Beers With Bands Podcast started out focusing on the Twin Cities/Minneapolis scene but has since branched out to covering bands nationally and internationally. Michael’s show is very similar to mine in concept, and we both share a love of beer, so it was an extremely fun conversation. We talked in depth about podcasting and all of our favorite things about it. If you enjoy Michael’s style, you can find him on any of the Beers With Bands socials. And if you’re in a band, his email is easily available. Thanks for listening and supporting local musicians!

Episode 347 features MIGGS from Pasadena, Maryland, originally from Austin, Texas. I first heard him perform at the Labor Day Raft-Up hosted by Rumor Reel, and we later sat down in person at one of my favorite Annapolis bars, Dark Horse Tavern. We talked about his music and writing process, his entertainment strategy, and his backstory of moving from Texas to Maryland. MIGGSs (Miguel Rangel) is also an IT professional and a military Veteran. The episode features his song Party Ride—and if you like it, you can stream it on any major platform. He has new music dropping on February 13th, new shows announced for 2026, and his last show of 2025 is December 18th at 7 PM at Primo. Thanks for listening, and keep an eye out for Miggs coming to a bar near you.

Episode 346 features Horse Island, an indie rock band from Charlotte, NC. They’re playing a show this weekend at Starlight on 22nd in Charlotte with Benton and The Bleeps. The Hollow Truths were originally on the bill but unfortunately won’t be able to make it. In the interview I spoke with Christian Hall and Sean Murphy. I wanted to have the guys on to support the show and share their backstory. While Horse Island is a new project for them, they’ve been part of the scene for a while and have developed their sound through playing in previous bands. I featured their song “Some Kind of Way” on this episode, and if you like it, you can stream it wherever you listen to music.

Episode 345: Mike Huff of BEES! (Arcade Rock) [Philly]
Tuesday Nov 04, 2025
Tuesday Nov 04, 2025
Episode 345 features Mike Huff from the Philadelphia band BEES! They’re a self-described arcade rock band, and we’re playing a show together this Saturday (November 8th) at Double Nickel Brewing in New Jersey, just outside of Philadelphia. We’ll be playing alongside our good friends The Mack Brothers and Naive Nature. This is Mike’s second or third time on the show, and we’ve been fortunate to become friends and play a bunch of shows together over the years. BEES! was one of the first bands to come on the podcast whose music I feel is truly unique and classic in its own way, largely because of Mike’s voice. On this episode, I featured “The Other Day” as well as one of their latest tracks, “If You Ask Me,” which you can stream wherever you listen to music and download from their website (listed below). Thanks for listening and supporting local artists.

Episode 344 features Shea Springer from Sweetfoot Studios. I've recently been recording with him, and I was eager to bring him on the podcast to share his story. Shea is an absolute blast to work with and is based in Easton, MD. In the interview, we dive into his recording process, his role as an engineer and producer, and how he keeps his business thriving in the modern music industry. We ended up doing two songs with him; one just dropped yesterday, called “Zero Sum.” We also recorded a fun parody titled "Naptown," inspired by Annapolis, Maryland. At the time of this interview, it wasn't out yet, but the music video is out now on YouTube. We filmed it all over the city. Thanks for listening and supporting local musicians!
